Romantic movies to watch this weekend

Here are some of the best romantic movies for couples to watch together, curated by the Readiva review team.

A Walk to Remember (2002)

The Nicholas Sparks novel-to-film registry is vast, but my favorite is A Walk to Remember, which follows the love story between a high school rebel (Shane West) and a preacher’s daughter battling cancer (Mandy Moore). Even after repeated viewings, it still makes me cry.

Moulin Rouge (2001)

One of the most whimsical love stories ever made, Moulin Rouge centers on a young Englishman in Paris who falls for a burlesque company’s lead singer. But the problem? She’s set to marry a powerful duke who’s promised to fund the company’s next project. So the Englishman and singer begin an affair, to the tune of top 40 songs.

The Photograph (2020)

When Mae Morton (Issa Rae) finds an old photograph of her mother, she’s sent on a journey that leads to a rising-star journalist, Michael Block (Lakeith Stanfield). And get this: You can now watch this new, very sexy Rae and Stanfield movie from the comfort of your couch.

P.S. I Love You (2007)

This! Movie! It centers on a woman, Holly (Hilary Swank), who is grieving her husband, Gerry (Gerard Butler). However, after he was diagnosed with a terminal illness, Gerry prepared for his wife’s mourning and wrote several letters sent to her after he passed on. They come once a year and all end with “P.S., I love you.” I know!
